“Parakletos” is a Greek term often translated as “advocate,” “comforter,” “counselor,” or “helper.” In Christian theology, it is used primarily in the New Testament to describe the Holy Spirit. The word appears in the Gospel of John, where Jesus promises His disciples that the Father will send the Parakletos after His departure. The Holy Spirit, as the Parakletos, is understood to guide, support, and empower believers, offering comfort in times of trouble and interceding on their behalf.
